In photos she has since deleted, Hampshire showed a group costume with a friend: her as Johnny Depp and her friend as Amber Heard, both wearing the clothes they wore to court. “I want to address what is one of the most reckless, insensitive, and ignorant things I have ever done,” she wrote. “For Halloween, I stupidly thought it would be funny to dress up as Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. I am deeply sorry and ashamed that I put something so terrible into the universe. The Amber Heard/Johnny Depp libel trial has been the site of ongoing online speculation and conspiracy theories. A legal precedent for alleged abusers to sue their alleged victims. It was a huge source of controversy. In other words, it was a strange choice for Halloween.
