When Duke and North Carolina meet on Saturday at the Dean Smith Center, it will be the first time since 2019 that the Blue Devils and Tar Heels will face off in a game in which both teams are ranked in the top 10. Enter a one-game lead over the No. 7 Blue Devils into the loss column in the ACC standings as February dawns with the conference title and the main seed for the NCAA Tournament in contention.
The simultaneous strength of Duke and North Carolina heightens the excitement in what is always a hotly contested matchup. At 16-4 (7-2 ACC), the Blue Devils have won 11 of their last 12 games since falling in their ACC opener at Georgia Tech on Dec. 2.
North Carolina State also lost to Georgia Tech, which upset UNC on Wednesday to end the Tar Heels' 10-game winning streak. The loss halted North Carolina's run as the last Power Conference team was undefeated against league opponents. But the Tar Heels remain unbeaten at home and could extend their lead in the ACC standings to two spots with a win.

They also have a group of very talented freshmen, Led by Jared McCain, and second-year students who have the ability to launch offensive fireworks.
