Diablo 4 is Blizzard’s fastest selling game of all time

Diablo 4 launches in full today, and has already cemented itself as Blizzard’s fastest-selling game “ever.”

Diablo IV launched today, and it’s already met rave reviews (Tom also loved it in his Diablo 4 impressions), but Blizzard’s Action-RPG scored another triumph by quickly becoming Blizzard’s fastest-selling game of all time.

Early access for Diablo 4 kicked off at the beginning of June, and those few days seemed to be enough for Diablo 4 to be played for 93 million hours. Blizzard puts this into stunning perspective in a press release by noting that it’s been over 10,000 years or “the equivalent of playing 24 hours a day since the beginning of human civilization.”

“This is a years-long moment in the making for the Diablo IV team. We are incredibly proud to offer players the richest story in a Diablo game,” says Diablo General Manager Rod Ferguson. “Since the game was first announced in 2019, we have paid millions in support Players around the world towards this version of our dark vision of the sacred.
