Deadpool will need a little help from his friends to survive in the multiverse. The Super Bowl trailer has revealed the first footage and new title for the game Deadpool 3which is officially called Deadpool Wolverine.
The trailer also confirmed rumors that the Time Variance Authority, a multi-verse hopping organization located at the center of Disney+ Loki, will play a major role in the film that introduces Ryan Reynolds' anti-hero to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The trailer opens with a birthday party for Wade Wilson (AKA Deadpool) which is interrupted by agents from TVA, who take him back to headquarters and recruit him for a mission. Images of him from Marvel Studios' history are on display, including Captain America, Iron Man and Thor.
“Your little cinematic universe is about to change forever. I am the Messiah. I am Marvel Jesus,” says Deadpool, who earlier in the trailer name-checked Marvel owner Disney while making a joke with the innuendo.
Deadpool 3 marks A first for Marvel Studios. It will be her first R-rated film. It will also be her first film starring a character who originally appeared in films produced by 20th Century Fox, the studio that owned the rights to characters like the X-Men and Fantastic Four before they were acquired by Disney in 2019. Although Hugh Jackman launched the modern superhero era in the 2000s X-Menthis also marks the first MCU film to feature the actor, who came out of retirement as the film's Wolverine.
Marvel has a lot riding on it dead pool 3. The studio faced multiple setbacks at the box office last year Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Obsession Poor performance and Wonders Bombing. This year's game, between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, has extra interest because music superstar Taylor Swift will be in attendance, supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelce, the Chiefs' star.
