Danger! Producer reveals rare secret while apologizing for ‘fatal mistake’

a Danger! The producer revealed his show’s secret while apologizing for a “big mistake” in a recent episode.

On March 9, viewers became disenchanted with watching the game show after a snapshot of the contestants’ final scores was shown during host Mayim Bialik’s opening speech.

The moment spoiled the entire episode, and now executive producer Michael Davies has revealed why the error occurred.

talking on Inside Jeopardy! Immediately, my apologies to our entire audience, Davies said on the podcast.

He continued, “We totally blew it at the top of the show. We made a huge mistake revealing the final scores at the end of the opening take during Mime’s monologue.”

Subsequently, Davies, who provided rare insight into the production of the series, said that the opening segment of the show was often re-shot after the game was completed, with choppy footage including the contestants’ final scores replaced with the same footage from the beginning.

He said that although it’s “standard procedure to get results in the platform back to the original level”, for some reason it “didn’t happen” that particular day – and no one in post-production caught the error,

“It’s a series of mistakes and it’s somewhat remarkable that it all happened,” Davies said, but assured viewers that protocols were now in place that “will prevent this from happening again”.

He said, “The whole thing is I always focus on not focusing on what happened and why this happened in order to punish people. This is what happened and why it happened so that we can build a protocol to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

‘Danger!’ He gave the results of the episode right at the start

Davis apologized to “anyone whose experience with this program has been ruined,” and continued, “We take these mistakes very seriously, and the self-flagellation that occurs across the senior management team, the postal team, and everyone involved.”

“That’s a good thing about him Danger. We take bugs really seriously.”
