Bandai Namco forms a new development studio focusing on commissioned projects

For many years, there have been development teams at Bandai Namco working on Nintendo exclusive games. Now, Bandai Namco has created a new studio, which will work on “commissioned development projects” including Nintendo titles.

“Studio 2 & Studio S” has already listed a bunch of Nintendo games that its teams have contributed to in the past. This includes Smash Bros. and Mario Kart as well as newer IPs like ARMS. Here’s a translated developer description from the same page:

The site also mentions how it is currently looking to fill a range of roles. One of these recruits includes “3D action” games, which apparently include a “side view” perspective. Keep in mind that this could be for a new or existing IP address.

A lot of job listings also mention how it is “Commissioned by NintendoAlthough a description from Bandai Namco says this studio will generally handle “contracted development projects within the company.” The website for “Studio 2 & Studio S” also has an area to share some facts and statistics about the company and employee interviews.
