Baldur's Gate 3 players have just discovered an inventory management shortcut that saves a lot of time despite playing the game for hundreds of hours.
While Baldur's Gate 3 adapts the rules of D&D 5E to the video game format, it still changes several things to make the gameplay more interesting. One big change involves magic items that the player loots along the way, as there are a much larger number of items available in the average D&D campaign.

In Baldur's Gate 3, you can expect to find countless magical weapons, suits, armor, scrolls, potions, and arrows that will aid you on your journey. This assumes you can keep them before Gale devours them for their magic.
As such, you'll be juggling many items on your journey, especially between trips to town, where you can sell equipment to merchants. This means a lot of fiddling with the inventory management system, as you try to keep everything straight.

It turns out that some players made it too difficult for themselves. User on Baldur's Gate 3 Reddit They revealed that they just discovered that you can bring up a list of equippable items by tapping on the equipment slot despite playing for over fifty hours.

What's surprising is that others missed this despite playing longer. “300 hours…” one user wrote, while another said: “More than 50 hours.”

It seems that some players checked their items one by one in the inventory itself and equipped them from there. This can be a tedious process, as many items are spread across the entire group's inventory, not to mention all the moving equipment, to avoid a weight limit.
This seems to be more of an issue on PC than on console. It's harder to navigate the menu with a controller than with a mouse, so console players will likely only test the shortcuts on the side of the screen to avoid a lot of pointless clicking.

The benefit of using an equippable item slot is that it will display a list of related items from all inventory screens, greatly reducing time while comparing gear. It is unfortunate that some players missed this and had to go through long things while choosing the best magic items for the party.
