In a post on the official Larian Studios Twitter/X channel, the developers have addressed Baldur's Gate 3 save issues that keep occurring on Xbox Series It is possible to get around this by activating cross-platform saves within the game.

To use this method, you need to create an account on the Larian website, then in Baldur's Gate 3, go to Setting Options in the main menu. Go to the Gameplay tab and select Cross Save, while linking your Larian and Xbox accounts.
From now on, your last 5 saves will be uploaded to Larian's servers via cloud save. If the error occurs again, you will need to reactivate the cross-save function in Baldur's Bate 3, giving you access to your most recently loaded saves.

It's frustrating that this method is necessary, but at least it provides one way around the save-and-delete problem. As mentioned earlier, Baldur's Gate 3 is a massive game with some challenging boss battles, so any way to keep your saves safe is welcome, at least for now.
It's unclear when Baldur's Gate 3 save issues will be fixed on Xbox Series For now, fans will need to rely on Larian's servers and cloud saves to ensure their save file is transferred to Nine Hells.
