MEBAA: Boeing Announced Longest-Range Business Jet - BBJ 777X
On the occasion of the Dubai Business Aviation Show (MEBAA), Boeing presents the BBJ777X, the business version of its 777X. Up to 21,570 km of range.
"Our most exclusive customers want to travel with the best space and comfort and fly directly to their destination. The new BBJ 777X will be able to do this like no other airplane before it, redefining ultra-long range VIP travel," said Greg Laxton, head of Boeing Business Jets, at the bi-annual Middle East Business Aviation Association Show (MEBAA).
11,645 NM or 21,570 km: this is in theory a little more than half of the turn of the Earth. It is also the distance promised by Boeing for the Business version of its 777-8, the new BBJ family (Boeing Business Jet), with the 777-9 (11,000 NM or 20,370 km). Such autonomy translates into very long trips and many hours spent on board. One will be reassured by imagining that the conditions of life in flight will have nothing to do with those of an airliner, even those of the 161 passengers of the A350-900ULR of Singapore Airlines.
The cabin layout of the future BBJ777X, whose surface area may exceed 340 m2, will be entrusted to three specialists, Greenpoint Technologies, Jet Aviation and Unique Aircraft Design, who will compete with each other.
