“All American” EP Nkechi Okoro Carroll Remembers Kamar De Los Reyes – Deadline

Over the past two years, Kamar de los Reyes has made recurring appearances on the CW's flagship series All Americans As coach Montes, head coach at Coastal California University. He had been filming new episodes for the drama's upcoming sixth season until his death on Sunday at the age of 56 after a short battle with cancer.

After news of de los Reyes' death on Christmas Eve, All Americans Executive producer and showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll shared her memories of working with One life to live alum.

“We are absolutely devastated by the loss of Qamar,” she said in a statement to Deadline. “He was a beloved member of ours All Americans family. He brought so much love, light and joy to the set every day, even during his final days. We are so grateful for every moment he spent with us. Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with Sheri, Kaylyn, Michael, John and the rest of the Qamar family. Thank you for sharing so generously with us and the rest of the world. It was truly a gift. One we will cherish forever.

De los Reyes is survived by his wife, actress Sherri Som. sons Kailyn (26) and twins Michael and John (9); his brothers, Daniel and Alfredo Jr.; His sisters are Lily and Ilde. His mother is Matilda and his father is Alfredo.
