Ali MacGraw has issued a statement regarding the death of her co-star love story, Ryan O’Neill, who died yesterday at the age of 82.
“Working with Ryan, all those years ago, was one of the great experiences of my film career, and we have remained friends forever. He was a consummate actor, charming and funny, too. I know a big part of my success was because of his generosity as my co-star. It was devastating to know Ryan has been ill for many years now, and I was not surprised to learn of his passing yesterday morning. Fortunately, he was surrounded by his son Patrick and a small group of close lifelong friends. My heart goes out to his four children and to the people who loved him most. Ryan and I worked together again several years ago Years with the road company for “Love Letters.” It was a wonderful experience, and I will miss him and the fun we shared…and I pray he finally finds peace.
