Actor Jeremy Renner is in a “critical but stable condition” following a snow shoveling accident in Reno

Actor Jeremy Renner sustained injuries during a snowfall Sunday, leaving him in a “critical but stable condition,” according to his publicist.

“As of now, we can confirm that Jeremy is in a critical but stable condition due to the injuries he sustained following a weather-related accident while shoveling snow earlier today,” publicist Samantha Mast told KABC’s ABC News. “His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said Renner was airlifted to a local hospital from the crash site in Reno, Nevada.

“At approximately 9:00 a.m. January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury at the Mount Rose Highway area in Reno, Nevada,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Officials said they are investigating what happened.

“Mr. Renner was the only party involved in the incident,” the sheriff’s office said.

Renner, 51, starred as Hawkeye in Marvel’s “The Avengers” movies. He is the star of Marvel’s “Hawkeye” series on Disney+. He received Academy Award nominations for “The Town” and “The Hurt Locker”.
