The Islamic State has officially claimed responsibility for a stabbing attack in Solingen, Germany this Saturday evening.
The Islamic State (IS) group said Saturday that one of its members was behind a deadly knife attack at a festival in Solingen, West Germany, and had acted to “revenge” Muslims “in Palestine and everywhere else”.
The jihadist group said in a statement released by its propaganda arm Amaq that “the attacker who attacked a Christian gathering in the town of Solingen” in which three people were killed was “a soldier” of ISIS. At 10pm this Saturday, German police arrested a man at the refugee center in Solingen on Saturday evening, a spokesman for the authorities told a German press agency.
