Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Snake Island in the Black Sea, where Kyiv scored a high-profile victory at the start of the war with Russia, which entered its 500th day on Saturday.

“Today we are on Snake Island, which, like the rest of Ukraine, will never be conquered by the aggressor, because we are a country of courage,” the head of state said in an undated video posted on social media on Saturday. .

“From this place of victory for these 500 days, I want to thank each and every one of our soldiers here,” said Mr. Zelensky said in the video, where he can be seen arriving on the island by boat and laying flowers in front of a monument.
