51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards Honoring the best in daytime television, including talk shows, soap operas, travel and cooking shows, and more. It was also a historic night.
Dick Van Dyke made history by becoming the oldest actor, at 98 years old, to win a Daytime Emmy Award. He scored in the Guest Performance in a Daytime Drama Series category for his role as a mystery man/Timothy Robichaux in Days of our lives.
“Am I really the biggest? I didn’t know I was the biggest,” Van Dyke said He told ET exclusively Before the night’s celebrations. “I’d be wrong. I think I’m really the last of my generation. I’m 98 years old. I have almost all my marbles. I can’t remember what I had for breakfast.”
Night also belongs to Public Hospitalwhich received the most awards with four Daytime Emmys for Best Direction, Best Writing, Best Supporting Performance, and Best Drama Series.
The party took place at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles on June 7, and was hosted by ET. Kevin Frazier And Nichelle Turner, marking the occasion The third year in a row That co-hosts officiated the star-studded ceremony.
