150-pound statue, stolen from the “Beetlejuice 2” collection in Vermont

Police are searching for those responsible for the theft of a 150-pound statue and other items from the set of the highly anticipated “Beetlejuice 2” movie in Vermont.

Police said they had received two reports of two strange and unusual incidents from the East Corinth set, which involved the theft of a large skeleton statue and a lamppost with a distinctive pumpkin ornament. Vermont State Police said.

“We tried saying the name of that stolen statue three times, but it didn’t come back!” Vermont State Police poked fun at a Facebook post about the incident on Friday. Here is a quote

Shortly after midnight on July 14, security personnel told police that an older GMC pickup truck had mounted a lamppost in Village Road, removed its base and drove off with it, NBC reported 5.

Cinema staff confirmed later on Monday that the thieves had struck again and taken the statue. Police said they believed she was abducted sometime between 5 p.m. on July 13 and 11 a.m. on July 17.

No arrests have been made.

Beetlejuice 2, the sequel to Tim Burton’s iconic 1988 horror comedy about a mischievous poltergeist from the “underworld,” is expected to be released in September 2024. According to Variety.

Michael Keaton will reprise his role as the title character and “Wednesday” star Jenny Ortega will play the daughter of Lydia Diaz, who was played in the original film by director Winona Ryder, who will also return for the sequel.
