In January 2017, YachtHarbour announced that there are at least six 100m+ megayachts under construction at Lurssen. In December 2017, Lurssen floated out new 130m+ Project Shu. Later, Lurssen 130m+ Lightning and 130m Shu: more pics and video were published.

Following her successful sea trials made in the North Sea during March and May 2018, Imperial is proud to announce the future delivery of 136-metre Project SHU during this Autumn 2018, in collaboration with the reputed German shipyard Lürssen. Showcasing a very stylish and impressive exterior design from the creative mind of Espen Øino, and luxury interior from Mark Berryman, Project SHU was one of the most secret superyacht projects under construction at Lürssen.

Imperial acted as Broker, Owner’s Representative and Build Supervisor, and will now act as Operational Manager for the vessel. Project SHU boasts a most elegant and graceful exterior design while ensuring that, despite her massive volume, she maintains her striking looks. She also has a calm and spacious interior feel which has been beautifully crafted with the use of soft neutral tones and tactile finishes. Her first numbers unveiled are impressive: 136m length, 20.5m beam, 2 helipads with D-Values of 18m and 14m (located respectively on Sun deck aft and Bridge deck) able to welcome the biggest aircraft on the market or to be built.

The balance and proportion of the yacht’s profile allows for generous exterior decks that offer a range of options for owners and guests to enjoy, from sun-drenched and open entertainment areas to more sheltered and intimate formal spaces. A special feature is the very large swimming pool, which runs transversely on main deck aft. Another highlight are the sea terraces and platforms, which allow for perfect water access for water sport activities as well as relaxation.

“Project SHU represents a major milestone for Imperial.” Says Julia Stewart, Imperial Director. “Being involved in impressive projects like these shows our capacity and experience in superyacht and megayacht management, with regular deliveries of 80m+ projects supervised and operated by our team since 2015. Our strong and very dynamic links with Lürssen, Espen Øino and Mark Berryman helped to achieve one of the most impressive superyacht of the next decade”

Shipyard Managing Partner Peter Lürssen says: “SHU fulfils the requests of a very experienced owner in an exceptional way. The owner’s input within all aspects of the yacht’s design was clear, strong and exacting. Building SHU was a significant challenge and we are very proud of this achievement. She represents another remarkable milestone in our history. Once again, we have had the great pleasure of working with the team of Imperial to create a truly wonderful yacht with many new and unique features.”

The delivery of this striking project is scheduled for this Autumn 2018. Watch this space for key milestone update.
