HP has unveiled the “world’s highest-performance AI PC,” the OmniBook Ultra, which features AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 CPU with up to 55 TOPs.
HP has decided to strengthen its position in the AI-powered PC market, and revealed the advanced OmniBook Ultra, which features the highest AI performance in the industry with AMD Ryzen AI 300 accelerated processing units.
HP is all set to show its dominance in the AI PC space with its latest laptop launch. The company has been quiet for some time, amidst rivals like ASUS and Acer showing off their own AI PC offerings. However, it seems HP has decided to break the silence in style as well. The company has unveiled its most capable OmniBook Ultra AI PC at IFA 2015. Imagine AI Event The AI conference was held in New York last Thursday. At the event, HP was very optimistic about integrating AI into consumer products, claiming that this enables creativity for everyone.
While the company didn’t reveal the laptop’s full specs, it described it as the “highest-performing AI PC” and revealed that it features AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 “Strix” accelerated processing units.

The unique security chip at the core of the PC enables self-healing from cyberattacks with the help of artificial intelligence while maintaining data privacy and user productivity.
- Sustainable and future-proof technology: A free update to the OmniBook Ultra to experience Copilot+ PC will be available from Microsoft when available. The device is designed with up to 90% recycled metals and 5% ocean-bound plastics to help reduce environmental impact.
Since the focus was all on AI, HP showed off the AI TOPS performance it was able to extract from the Omnibook Ultra, and according to the company, it was able to deliver 55 NPU TOPS which is about 5 TOPS higher than the officially rated 50 TOPS for the same Ryzen AI 300 family.
When comparing the HP OmniBook Ultra’s SoC to competitors like Apple’s M4 chip, the NPU performance is reported to be 45% higher and nearly double that of the M3. HP says that through its partnership with AMD, it has been able to create a device that delivers the fastest AI performance in the industry, and the OmniBook Ultra features a “co-engineered” design, which is why the Ryzen AI 300 chip delivers 55 TOPS of AI performance. It seems that HP was able to squeeze out the extra NPU TOPS by overclocking the AI engine while working with AMD.
The HP OmniBook Ultra will also be certified under Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC program. It will offer up to 21 hours of battery life and HP AI Companion for a personalized experience. The laptop also features a 2240 x 1400 IPS LCD display with up to 300 nits of brightness. Interestingly, the OmniBook Ultra will also offer Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, making it the first AMD laptop to feature the standard.
In terms of pricing, the OmniBook Ultra will be available for $1,449.99 and is expected to be available by early August.
