Tomorrow the academic year begins for thousands of students. Goodbye to late mornings and late nights, you’ll have to wake up early again. Back to school, for the 3rd year in a row, is punctuated by the new school calendar, which only applies in the Wallonia-Brussels confederation.
After less than two months of vacation, the school year begins this Monday. However, students do not fear, the next holidays are not far away.
In fact, starting tomorrow, like every year, primary and secondary students will switch course periods of 7 to 8 weeks.
The first vacation period after the first 8 weeks of classes will be from October 21 to November 8. After seven weeks of classes, we signal the end of 2024 and the start of winter break, which runs from December 23rd to January 5th.
Then, after 7 weeks of classes in 2025, we leave again for vacation and relaxation from February 24th to March 9th. Then we will resume the Easter break after 7 new weeks of classes from April 28th to May 11th.
A little special this year falls on April 21st, 1 week before the Easter Monday holiday. Finally, after 8 new weeks of classes, exams come and finally summer vacations from July 5th to August 25th.
