“I just want to say to my daughter: Elle, I love you, and I wish I was the father that I needed in my 20s, and I clearly wasn’t. I hope you can forgive me for my shortcomings,” Schneider said directly into the camera. “I love you completely. I love you completely, and I just want you to be well and happy with you and your beautiful baby, Lucky.
“I wish you the best. I feel bad, and I just want you to know that I don’t take anything you say personally.”
The “Saturday Night Live” alum’s comments come days after Bunnie XO’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast Clip released From an interview in which King spoke candidly about her differences with her father since childhood.

“My relationship with my dad is in a state of flux. Right now, things aren’t going well. I don’t agree with a lot of the things he says. You can want someone to change a lot, and in the end you can’t control anyone else’s actions; you can’t control other people’s feelings,” she said. “All you can control is how you react and what you do with your feelings.”
King recalled the few summers she spent with her father instead of her grandparents in Ohio.
One year, she joined Schneider while he was filming “Prison Movie” in Stockton, California. By that time, King had already started collecting tattoos, and as a result, she had to wear sweaters in very hot weather because Schneider was “very much against tattoos or any form of self-expression that was different from what he wanted me to have.”
“He never thought about me,” she added.
King also claimed that she would “get in a lot of trouble if I got a shot wrong.” When she was younger, she starred in her father’s 1999 film “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.”
The “Ex’s & Oh’s” singer went on to say that her mother got tired of her rebelliousness when she was 14 and sent her to stay with her father while he was in Amsterdam for work. She was cared for by a nanny and a private tutor that summer.
“Every time my father took me on a trip, he would forget I was with him because he’s not the type to plan well,” King said before recounting her trip to Moscow, where a security guard kept her entertained for a full day.

King’s mother is actress and former model London King, who divorced Schneider in 1990. Schneider and his current wife, Patricia Schneider, have two children together: 11-year-old Miranda Scarlett Schneider and 7-year-old Madeline Ruby Schneider.
“My parents were obsessed with food,” King revealed.
King said that during two summers when she was a preteen, Schneider sent her to an “obesity camp,” where children were given “a slice of turkey and steamed vegetables for every meal” and exercised “all day long.”
“The ‘F’ word really turns me on,” King said after Bonnie asked, “Is it okay to call it ‘fat camp’?”
“It got to the point where I didn’t want to spend the summer with him anymore,” King later said.

Going back to the beginning of her music career, King spoke about feeling like she didn’t benefit from favoritism.
“He never helped me; I never wanted to help him. He didn’t have a good reputation,” she said of Schneider. “That was really it. It wasn’t like, ‘I have to make my own way.’ It was like, ‘I don’t want my name associated with him.’ I’d get in trouble for saying that, but I don’t really care.”

King, who released her debut album, “Love Stuff,” in 2015, recalled moving to Los Angeles and performing unsigned. As her career began to take off, King said, her father wasn’t involved.
“Honestly, I haven’t spoken to my dad. It’s been four or five years since I’ve spoken to my dad,” she said. “When I released my album and people started asking me about my dad, my dad called me and said, ‘Don’t talk about me in the press!’ Okay.”
“I don’t care. Listen, people have asked me about … (Schneider) for years. You’re talking out of your ass. You’re talking (fuckin’) about drag … and anti-gay rights,” she added.
“I want to take this opportunity to say: I don’t agree with him. I don’t agree with what he says. I believe in all forms of love, and I believe that every person finds their own happiness and joy in whatever way, in whatever capacity. There are no politics when it comes to love; that’s all.”
“I’m so proud,” King said of her career. After speaking openly about postpartum depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, which manifests as “mild Tourette syndrome,” she added, “I’m healthier than I’ve ever been; my mind is in good shape.”
