The driver fled and “the vehicle was located and isolated near the scene of the accident,” a press release said, adding that “the police investigation is progressing rapidly under the direction of the prosecutor.”

The victim, who was rushed to hospital, died shortly after his medical treatment.
According to the deputy representative of the Nupes de l’Hérault Nathalie Oziol, the facts occurred in the popular district of La Paillade and the victim was 14 years old, she pointed out on Twitter, expressing regret that this “sporting event ends in complete tragedy”.
“We want those who committed this despicable act to be brought to justice,” Montpellier Mayor Michel Delafosse expressed his “shock” on social media on Thursday.
The lawsuit could not be immediately reached for further details on the circumstances of the fatal accident.
