ChatGPT is back after a major hiatus — and here’s what happened

With both Down Detector and OpenAI reporting the return of ChatGPT, the outage appears to have been resolved today. Using OpenAI’s estimates, the service appeared to be down for approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes.
