Apart from Morbihan, Brittany deserves a detour to one of its beaches located in Saint-Malo in the Ille-et-Villaine department. The ranking established by TripAdvisor included it in the top 10 of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.
This well-known island likes to tax its tourists. But what is the goal?
Light waves and soft sand
This amazing beach is known as Chillan Beach. It is about 2 km long and actually includes three beaches: Grande Plage, Hoguet Beach and Rochebonne Beach. On the official tourist site in Brittany, Chillon Beach “First, as we moved towards Rochebonne, a strip of sand covered by increasingly high dunes, with subsequent constructions of windmills. The first causeway was built in 1509, rebuilt and expanded several times. La Digue, 1671 meters long, runs along the Grande Plage and allows a pleasant stroll lined with several villas built at the end of the 19th century.“.
TripAdvisor relied on the opinions of its Internet users to draw its rankings. The site justified its choice “A long beach of golden sand when the tide is low. Water is perfect. Light waves and soft sandy bottom. Heavenly!“.
How to get there?
From Brussels, it takes you 6 to 7 hours to reach Saint-Malo by train, most of the time with two connections (Roysi Charles de Gaulle Airport and Rennes). Travel time by car is about the same, as it takes about 6h50 by road.
