Stratos 716 Review
Stratos Aircraft redesigned its concept for Very Light Jet Stratos 714. At EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, the company from Redmond, Oregon, introduced the new model Stratos 716. Stratos 716 is another development 714 that is in the status of proof of concept. “When we presented our proof of concept last year, the feedback from market participants was huge,” said Carsten Sundin, technical director of Stratos Aircraft. “It was clear that there is a need for performance and comfort, as we offer, but in a six-seater plane. We achieved this with the help of the 716. “The Stratos 716 is 79 centimeters longer and nine inches wider than the cab of the Stratos 714.
The Stratos 714 test aircraft has performed 130 test flights since the first flight in November 2016 and has earned 185 hours. “714 played an important role in designing the design towards 716. First, we will offer the 716X as a set. We consider a limited number of aircraft kits as a logical step towards certification. Customers who do not want to wait for approval will be able to own and manage the Stratos 716 earlier, ”said Carsten Sundin.
The 716X Carbon Fiber is equipped with the Pratt & Whitney JT15D-5. The cabin is equipped with two screens G3X, GTN 750 and a Garmin autopilot. On board also has a fully automatic printing system.
Kit buyers for the Stratos 716X can rely on expert support from the manufacturer during construction. Sundin: “This program will allow us to deliver 716X to a select group of clients very soon, while we continue to work on approval.” The first Stratos 716X has already been sold and is in production. The company will take further orders from the fourth quarter. Also, prices will be announced soon. In the meantime, Stratos Aircraft has invested about 3,800 square meters in its plant, including the production of Stratos 716.
