Pearl 15: the small, but powerful new Rolls-Royce engine for private jets
Rolls-Royce-designed engine for business, which was developed at the Rolls-Royce's Center of Excellence in Dahlewitz, Germany improved fuel efficiency and flight range.
Pearl 15 has a new engine core base with a 10-stage high-pressure compressor and a two-stage high-pressure turbine with improved aerodynamics and bladed cooling inside. The core uses advanced nickel alloys and ceramic coatings, which provides higher working pressures and temperatures.
With regard to the thrust of the engine, it will be 9% more powerful than its predecessor, resulting in higher fuel efficiency and longer range. One of the main differences from previous models of engines was improved engine environmental compatibility, as well as reduced noise level.
It was reported that the first Pearl 15 will be used in the new generation of the private aircraft line Bombardier's Global 5500 and Global 6500, announced by the Canadian aircraft manufacturer in the spring of this year.
"The Pearl engine is a pioneering product, brought together the most eco-friendly and efficient technologies available today," said Chris Cholerton, president of Rolls-Royce's civil aerospace division.
