Infinity and Beyond: Chinese airline launches Toy Story themed aircraft
Themed planes have become very popular among airlines recently. Indeed, it’s a good marketing opportunity to reach new target groups and offer unique experience on board.
Just at the end of 2017, Southwest Airlines launched an aircraft featuring artwork inspired by Disney Pixar’s big-screen adventure “Coco”. On one of the first flights, passengers were able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the movie during a live inflight concert performance by Anthony Gonzalez, who voiced a main character in the movie. And fans of Pixar animation have now one more reason to schedule a trip to China.
Shanghai Disneyland Park plans to open a brand new land dedicated to the Toy Story franchise. To celebrate the moment Shanghai Disney Resort announced a partnership with China Eastern Airlines. The result of this collaboration is the world's first Toy Story-themed plane.
The aircraft is designed to lure guests in the world of the animated film series with a personalised boarding pass, brightly coloured seats with portraits of the movie characters on headrests, and ceiling decked out with fluffy clouds and large images of characters from Toy Story.
The plane will be used on domestic routes. At the moment, the plane will only fly between Shanghai and Beijing.
