Hong Kong to add additional slots for private jets
New slots will be made available after 11pm for private jets according to Hong Kong's airport, pushing the total amount of available slots during this period to a total of 6. This is being made on a trial period.
In September 2017, the airport added more night time slots on its runway for aircrafts that met its strict noise quota. These new regulations see slots open to all aircrafts that follow noise rules and not only heavy Gulfstreams and Bombardier Globals as before.
One of the world's busiest airports, Hong Kong has been a difficult destination to work with as slot access and parking access have been very limited for such a popular destination. In Asia in general, infrastructure has been lacking to facilitate the development of business aviation, which remains in its early days in the region. Same difficulties have recently impacted Indian private jets.
