Routine trips will be comfortable, quick and quiet if Volerian implements the concept of a flying machine with a propulsion system repeating the flight movements of the wings of birds. At the present stage, the assembly of aircraft with flapping wings is difficult from the point of view of mechanics, which also increases the weight of the vehicle.
Production of the new device will be low-cost, the developers believe: most of the hull elements can be made with the help of pultrusion (pulling) - production technology of highly fiber-filled composite parts with a constant transverse structure.
Volerian experts insist that the drive created by them with the imitation of the bird's wing can be used in almost all aircraft of vertical or normal takeoff in large and small aircraft instead of screws and turbines.
The press release says: “Our company has created a propulsion system, which will be much cheaper in production and operation and will be much quieter and safer than any turbine and screw technologies. As proof, we intend to build an aircraft that can be used instead of an ordinary car or to perform special tasks. ”
The installation, developed by Volerian specialists, is a set of oscillating wings inserted into a special-shaped pipe; the stator wing is located in the direction of flow to increase system performance. The wing flies produce turbulence of the air, known as the Pocket's whirlwind.
Such channel wings can theoretically be of any length; they are exposed relative to each other with a high gear ratio to the lifting surface to increase thrust, reduce noise and reduce the energy required to lift the aircraft into the sky.
