AgustaWestland AW169 - the leader among VIP-class helicopters
The AW169 program was announced at the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2010. The AW169 is part of the AgustaWestland family of helicopters, which also includes the AW139 and AW189. The new helicopter quickly gained success in the market. The AW169 was developed in accordance with the latest FAA / EASA Part 29 certification standards and meets the most stringent safety requirements. The design uses a shockproof cabin and cabin structure, a shell that protects against the explosion of engines, it is also possible to fly with one engine inoperative. July 15, 2015, the manufacturer received a certificate of EASA.
Consider several VIP versions of the new machine. Now Leonardo Helicopters continues to actively cooperate with the studio Lanzavecchia + Wai, as well as with the house of Versace and, of course, with a long-time partner - Mecaer Aviation Group (MAG), which offer advanced design solutions for the AW109 GrandNew and AW139 helicopters.
The AW169 (I-RAIT) helicopter presented by MY WAY has been operated by the Italian company Hoverfly since April 2016. Its interior is designed for six passengers.
For serial cars also the project of design studio Lanzavecchia + Wai is offered. In the interior concept for four passengers, swivel chairs with a translucent cocoon are provided. As for the benefits of the new concept - the interior can be transformed depending on the needs of passengers. Each of them is offered their own chair with a table, lights and charging socket. This is a private space, but it becomes open at the moment when, for example, a conference club is required.
Studio Lanzavecchia + Wai, which deals primarily with furniture design, had no previous experience in creating aircraft interiors. “The opportunity to work with such a large and technically complex object is amazing for us,” says designer Francesca Lanzaveka. - The concept conveys calm and ease of the speed capabilities of the helicopter. Speed ??is the keyword AgustaWestland. ” In turn, the representative of Leonardo Helicopters confirmed the compliance of this concept with the company's requirements regarding the “personification” of the helicopter: “The aircraft should not be standard, it should be made for the client”.
According to experts, this is the most luxurious cabin, which was designed for helicopters of this type. The main areas of work of designers have become insulation and maximum comfort for passengers. Almost all elements of the decoration are made and installed by hand using the highest quality materials, including natural wood and leather.
In the new interior, there was an opportunity to integrate the SILENS System passive vibration suppression system. The interior equipment kit also includes a modified IFEEL multifunctional system, which greatly facilitates the management of all passenger cabin equipment, and wireless Internet. Thanks to the use of modern soundproofing materials in a helicopter, you can talk in almost a whisper, at least the developers say so. The company also proposes the development of personal design for a particular aircraft, but, of course, within the framework of the concept.
