The Atlanta BravesTrust Field may have provided a lot of local field advantage on Friday.
Houston Astros player Jordan Alvarez left a game against the Braves abruptly in the fifth inning with the team citing “illness” as the cause. She later announced that Alvarez had been taken to hospital:
Astros manager Dusty Becker shed some light on the situation after the match when he revealed that Alvarez was suffering from shortness of breath exacerbated by the fireworks in Atlanta. Fortunately, Alvarez has been reported to be in stable condition.

He was analyzed by the doctors. They said all his vitals are fine. He feels normal but still has to see our doctor. He was fair, he had shortness of breath and then when they shot the fireworks, kind of smoke made it worst.
“I’m glad we got him out when we did because I looked for him and he was in the bunker and it was a kind of scary moment because he could be anything, but they said he’s fine for now.”
Becker reportedly added that the team did not even see that Alvarez, who was playing on the left court, was in distress until he reported the bunker.
The Braves would eventually win the World Series for a rematch 6-2, although the Astros’ 77-44 record remains the best in MLS.
Alvarez, who signed a six-year, $115 million contract extension in June, in the middle of a career year on the board, entering Friday scoring .297/ .401/ .616 with 31 Homer for first place Astros. In the league without Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, he would be the best player in the game.
