Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark give a record-setting performance in Sky-Fever

Once again, the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky put on a great show in their rivalry matchup against the WNBA on Sunday. We also witnessed some record-breaking performances from rising stars Kaitlyn Clarke and Angel Reyes.

Chicago picked up its first win over Indiana on Sunday, recording a thrilling 88-87 win at Wintrust Arena. Of the three matches played, the second match was decided by only one point. Al-Hima had won the previous two meetings.

Along with the amazing match, both Clark and Reese gave special performances. Clark set a Fever franchise record for assists in a single game. Reese became the first WNBA rookie to record a 25-point, 15-rebound double-double since Aja Wilson in 2018.

Clark finished Sunday’s performance with 17 points, 13 assists and six rebounds. She also knocked down five shots from 3-point range. The 13 assists are the most by an Indiana player in its history.

Reese was dominant in the Sky’s win on Sunday, finishing with 25 points and 16 rebounds while hitting eight of 12 shots from the floor. She joined the elite company, becoming the first rookie to accomplish this feat since Wilson.

As a reminder, Wilson is a two-time league MVP.

Reese’s performance Sunday also marked the eighth straight game in which she recorded a double-double, a WNBA record for a rookie. It’s safe to say the Sky got an absolute steal with the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
