With the final cuts completed and the roster down to 53 players, we thought it would be interesting to take a comprehensive look at the list.
How many draft picks did the Eagles cut?
How many unselected players made the team?
How many defensive players from last year are no longer here?
We have all the answers in our annual in-depth look at the 53-man roster.
Location by location
The final 53-man roster includes three quarterbacks, three running backs, five wide receivers, two tight ends, nine offensive linemen, six rushers, six interior defensive linemen, five linebackers, five safeties, six cornerbacks and three specialists.
The Eagles have cut backs from last year at linebacker (three instead of four), quarterback (two instead of four), and defensive back (six instead of seven). They’ve also cut receivers (five instead of four), quarterbacks (five instead of three), and special teams players (three instead of two… remember, they didn’t have a kicker in the playoffs last year. They released Arjen Cepos, re-signed him after the playoffs, and then let him go after two games).

Of the 19 players who started at least one game on offense last year, eight are gone: Jason Kelce, DeAndre Swift, Jack Stoll, Suwa Obita, Jack Driscoll, Quiz Watkins, Julio Jones and Olamide Zacchaeus.
Of the 25 players who started at least one game on defense last year, 12 are no longer here: Haason Reddick, Fletcher Cox, Nicholas Morrow, Kevin Byard, Zach Cunningham, Justin Evans, Terrell Edmunds, Shaquille Leonard, Christian Ellis, Bradley Roby, Mario Goodrich and Kentavious Street.
That means a total of 21 of the 44 starters from last year are no longer here.
The 53-man roster includes 19 players who were not on the roster last year – eight on offense and 11 on defense.
The number of players not selected is greater than the number of players selected in the second round.
The list includes 12 former players.street– Second-round picks, including six who weren’t here last year (Saquon Barkley, Devin White, Mickey Becton, Jahan Dotson, Kenny Pickett, Quinyon Mitchell). About 17 percent of the roster was not selected. The Eagles did not retain any undrafted rookies, but four of the nine undrafted players on the roster — Red Blankenship, Britton Coffey, Eli Ricks and Ben Van Someren — began their careers as undrafted rookies with the Eagles. The other undrafted players — Rick Lovato, Fred Johnson, Bryce Huff and Tristen McCollum — began their careers with other teams: Lovato with the Bears, Johnson with the Steelers, Huff with the New York Jets and McCollum with the Texans.
How many draft picks were cut?
The list includes 31 players selected by the Eagles, including all seven of the nine players selected in the draft (Dylan McMahon was released and Aeneas Smith is on the injured list). There is also one player from the 2010 draft, one from 2013, four from 2018, one from 2020, six from 2021, four from 2022 and six from 2023 (with one player on the injured list).
The Eagles’ previous highest draft pick released Tuesday was 2021 4.D– Round pick Zeke McPherson. The only other previous draft picks the Eagles have ruled out were the 2021 6thD– Round pick Taron Jackson and McMahon, Rookie 6D-Circular selection.
The Eagles released nine players who were selected in the first three rounds by other teams: 1street-Player John Ross, 2Second abbreviation– Round 3 Paris Campbell, Max Scharping and 3R-Rounds Orrin Burks, Will Greer, Matt Hennessey, Terrell Lewis, Julian Okwara and Tyrion Davis-Price.
The current roster includes 14 players who were selected by other teams.
Who’s left on the 2017 Super Bowl roster?
The only players remaining from the 2017 Super Bowl championship team are Brandon Graham, Lane Johnson, Rick Lovato and Jake Elliott. Surprisingly, there are only eight players left who played under Doug Pederson. So 42 of the 50 position players played under Nick Sirianni alone. Aside from Graham, Johnson, Lovato and Elliott, the players remaining from Pederson’s final year are Dallas Goedert, Avonte Maddox, Josh Sweat and Jordan Mailata, all of whom were selected in 2018, as well as Jalen Hurts and Darius Slay, who arrived in 2020.
Youth List
The only players in their 30s are Braderi (31), Lovato (31), Slay (33), Johnson (34) and Graham (36). Only three other players are older than 27 — Avonte Maddox (28), Jake Elliott (29) and Dallas Goedert (29). That means 45 of the 50 players on the 53-man roster are 27 or younger.
Last year, 26 players 27 or older played in at least one game for the Eagles, and 18 of them left.
There are 14 players 23 or younger on the roster. The youngest is Cooper Deegan, who turned 21 in February. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is also 21 and is about five weeks older than Deegan. Eli Ricks, Kelly Ringo and Will Shipley are 22, and Jalen Carter, Nakobei Dean, Jalex Hunt, Trevor Keegan, Quinyon Mitchell, Moro Ojomu, Aeneas Smith, Nolan Smith and Johnny Wilson are 23.
Store draft picks
There are nine players on the roster who were selected in the first three rounds by other teams, including 1street– Second round: Saquon Barkley, Devin White, Mickey Becton, Jahan Dotson and Kenny Pickett. All five are new to the roster this year. Second round picks taken by other teams are Darius Slay, James Bradberry and AJ Brown. Third round pick:R-The main player is Zach Bowen.
Mother school
Georgia and Alabama each have five players on the 53-player roster, and Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Memphis, Michigan, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Stanford and Texas A&M each have two players. That makes 23 schools with one player each.
Super Bowl Champion
In addition to the four remaining players from Super Bowl LII — BG, Johnson, Elliott and Lovato — the only other current player with a Super Bowl ring is Devin White, who was with the Bucs when they beat the Chiefs 31-9 in Super Bowl LV in Tampa.
The last three drafts
Nineteen of the 21 players the Eagles have selected since 2022 are either on the 53-man roster or on the reserve list. The only players they have selected in the last three drafts who are no longer with the organization are Dylan McMahon and Kyron Johnson, the first two players the Eagles have selected since 2022.D– First-round pick in 2022. Johnson, a linebacker from Kansas, played in 22 games for the Eagles in 2022 and 2023 and was released in October. He joined the Steelers’ practice squad and was released by the Steelers on Tuesday.
